Happy New Year!
Here's a look at how our 2007 flew by. I was putting this together and can't believe how the kids have grown. Soon we will have four children 4 and under instead of 4 under 4. (It's the little things that mean a lot some days.)

A Few of Our Favorite Things
Austin, being almost 4, had his most incredible Christmas yet. And his enthusiasm and imagination bled over to his 3 siblings. They had no idea about Christmas a mere month ago. Today, they are still talking about "Santa Coz" and saying "Merry Kisstmas Mommy!"
Christmas Eve I put out a few wrapped gifts from Mommy and Daddy and family we weren't seeing in person. I put them by the fire place behind a safety gate so that the kids wouldn't get into them. Austin managed to sneak a box out from Aunt Heather, Uncle BJ, and cousin Micah and open it before I even noticed. He quietly took it to their playouse and emerged in his new shirt.
Aunt Heather also picked out one of his favorite gifts. . . May I introduce a future Dr. Austin. Be prepared if you are coming to visit. After a thorough and sometimes rough exam he charges a $40 copay. Go figure.
Tyler's favorite part of Christmas was the food. Here he is gobbling up a pumpkin muffin. He also enjoyed Christmas Eve Lasagna and Paula Deen's Pumpkin Trifle.
John thoroughly enjoyed the Micky Mouse Clubhouse. He dances to the hot diggity dog song and has the whole intro to the show memorized. They'll have lots of fun acting out episodes.
Austin insisted the entire week before Christmas that Santa was bringing him a space station and a new Thomas the Tank engine. There was no space station, but Santa managed to get a Cranky the Crane under the tree.
Aunt Marjorie (Clif's sister) made everyone DVDs of photos that she had taken of us in 2007. Everyone enjoyed them and shed a few tears when the pictures of Clif's Dad and sister came up. Both have passed in the last couple of years.
It was a wonderful Christmas and we're looking forward to a great New Year. The holidays pass so quickly!

Christmas Tour
Boomama is having a Christmas Tour of homes. Click on over and check out all of the fun decorations and ideas. I'm sure she'll have hundreds of people posting!
Here are a few of our decorations and Christmas things. As you can imagine with 4 kids under the age of 4 our decorations are sparse. I imagined sheer chaos with our tree this year, but to my surprise we have only had one broken ornament.
I did a smart thing in 2006. I photographed a few of our new ornaments and made the photos into ornaments at Cafepress.com. One of the following personalized ornaments broke last year. No worries! I have the picture ornament this year. This is my favorite Christmas tree cookie jar. It was a wedding present. I only have time to make small batches this year, so cookies don't last long enough to make it into the jar.
This is a picture of our fireplace. Doesn't the gate make it look festive? We're hoping that the 2008 photos will be minus the gate. We'll see. Three 3-year olds might be just a tad too curious for that.
Then we have my "temporary" skinny tree. Every year at the end of the season I say I'll replace it with a new one. Every year all the good ones are sold out. Next year....well, maybe...I'll get the tree I want at the beginning of the season.
Last year we didn't even get to the outside. We felt very lucky with a 3-year old and 3 1-year olds to have a tree. We have added some snowmen to a few lights we had purchased a few years ago.
Meet our inspectors. They approved!
And last, but not least, the photo Christmas cards. I love it when we receive cards from friends and family with pictures. They are getting more creative each year as online stores are offering some really creative templates. Of course, we can't use pre-made templetes around here. That would be way too easy. Mommy has to use some creative juices (and lose some sleep) to create our own one-of-a-kind cards. Look how much we've grown!
I can't wait to see all of the other tours! Have fun and thanks Boomama!

We Almost MIssed It - Happy Anniversary!
With the business of the season and the sniffles, etc. we didn't even exchange cards. This definitely calls for a belated celebration this year. We could use a night out. I did comment this evening that a few years from now I'd like to be in Hawaii celebrating. That's probably a little to long to be called belated.
It has been a wild ride and we wouldn't have it any other way. We've gained much and lost some. Along the way we added 4 beautiful children and lost Clif's father, his sister, my grandfather and a couple of close friends. Life is never dull and we've learned to never take it for granted.
Happy Anniversary to my love, Clif. I love you!
